Workshop "Investigating consciousness in animals and artificial systems: A comparative perspective"

Because of the two thematic focuses of the workshop (animal consciousness & artificial consciousness), we especially welcome submissions that discuss these issues from a comparative perspective. That is, although submissions may focus exclusively on animal consciousness or artificial consciousness, respectively, submissions that cover both topics will be given priority. Authors of accepted submissions will receive a (partial) reimbursement of their travel expenses for accommodation (up to two nights) and transportation (receipts are required). More specifically, we offer the following financial support: Up to 150 € for participants from Germany, 250 € for participants from the rest of Europe, and 350 € for participants from the rest of the world.

Workshop dates: 1.-2. June 2023, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

We welcome submissions for 45 minutes presentations (including 15 min for discussion).

Guidelines for abstract submissions: max. 600 words (excluding references).
