5-year Funded PhD position in Ethics & Political Philosophy at the Université de Fribourg

Applications are invited for a funded 5-year PhD position (50%) in ethics and political philosophy at the Université de Fribourg, Switzerland.

Responsibilities:

• Writing a doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Ralf Bader.
• Teaching one semester-long proseminar per academic year in French.
• Supporting administrative tasks, research activities and teaching of the chair for ethics and political philosophy.

Requirements:

• Master's degree or equivalent in philosophy.
• Very good knowledge of English and French.
• PhD project in ethics or political philosophy (broadly construed).

Salary:
CHF 30,776.52 per annum in the 1st year up to CHF 36,828.02 per annum in the 5th year.

Starting date:
1st September 2024 or to be agreed (the start date can be as early as 1st February 2024).

Duration of employment:
The appointment is initially for one year (probationary period) with the possibility of extension to a total of 5 years.
