The network “Bioethics and Structural Injustice” is excited to welcome Dr. Agomoni Ganguli-Mitra for a public online lecture: June 30, 2026; 18:00-19:30 CEST.
As abortion once again becomes a target for populist politics and legal restrictions, it is worth asking: what now? Using insights from Black and transnational feminists, Dr. Agomoni Ganguli-Mitra examines potential avenues for academic discourse and activism in our way to more just abortion access and care.

Dr. Agomoni Ganguli-Mitra is Senior Lecturer in Bioethics and Global Health Ethics, and Deputy-director of the JK Mason Institute for Medicine, Life Sciences and the Law. Her background is in bioethics, with a special interest in global bioethics, structural and gender justice. She has written on ethical issues related to global health emergencies, public health, global surrogacy, sex-selection, biomedical research, racism in health and the concepts of exploitation vulnerability and power in bioethics.

The DFG Network “Bioethics and Structural Injustice” aims to develop bioethical approaches suitable for investigating structural injustice, taking it into account when dealing with ethical questions and tackling processes of structural injustice in practice.
