The European Culture and Technology Lab (ECT Lab+) of the European University of Technology (EUt+) and its MSCA SE project „EpisTeaM“ is hosting a panel discussion on “AI, authorship and human creativity in education, science and arts” together with the Schader Foundation.

We want to ask how the role of authorship is changing as a result of AI:

...in science, where scientific texts and research proposals are increasingly generated by AI.

...in art and culture, where importance has usually been attached to who created a work of art – think of an autofictional novel, but also paintings or other works – and how the work is related to its creator.

...in the educational context, where the educational ideal of a person developing through writing comes up against the LLMs, which also challenge traditional forms of examination.

We are happy to invite science communicator Philipp Schrögel, media artist Allapopp, and writing scholar Margret Mundorf to share their perspectives. This will be followed by a moderated and interdisciplinary discussion. The panel discussion is framed by an academic conference entitled “Knowledge in the Age of Digital Re-/Production: Responsible Epistemologies?”, but is independent of it and is aimed at the general public.
